$1,500+ Raised at Good People | Good Beer 2013
Saturday, November 9 was unforgettable. We hosted our first beer tasting fundraiser at the historic Arcade Restaurant in downtown Memphis and 40 of you joined us to celebrate our work. Jeremy Warner of the Memphis Men’s and Women’s Chorale hosted the evening and we raised over $1,500 in just two hours. We want to thank everyone who came and celebrated the evening with us.
We hand-selected 6 incredible high-gravity beers that defined the evening. Instead of pairing each brew with a food item, we did something really special: we paired them with individuals we have met in Sudan who inspire us. We asked guests to not only learn about the brew they were drinking, but also the people they remind us of. This was the heart of our event theme, and it generated some amazing conversations.
Near the end of the evening our guests voted on their favorite brew. Southern gem Abita Andygator was declared the winner, barely beating out the La Trappe Quadrupel Ale from the Netherlands.
