4 Reasons To Get Your Good People Good Beer Tickets Now

our 5th year is going to be the best yet!

Posted by Scovia Wilson on April 12th, 2017

July 15, 2017 marks the 5th year for our annual beer tasting event that supports our life-changing programs in Sudan. To celebrate this milestone, we're taking this incredible evening to the next level! With more beers to taste, new ways to get involved, and more opportunities to have a blast, this is a night you will not want to miss! Here's 4 reasons you should go ahead and get your tickets right now:

1. We're Going To Sell Out

Last year we had a sold out event with a waiting list almost as big as the attendee list. We've moved to a bigger and better venue (vintage-themed warehouse!) and tripled the number of tickets available, but we already know we will sell out again this year based on higher earlybird ticket sales this far out from July 15.

Earlybird ticket prices are $35 until June 15, then ticket prices jump to $45. Secure your spot now so you don't miss out on this incredible evening.

2. This Year Is Going To Be Crazy Awesome

This is the 5th year for this incredible event, so we're taking the whole night to new levels of awesomeness. Your ticket includes six beers to taste and vote on, after tasting kegs, dinner, and access to the Yida Photography Exhibit, Whiskey Pull, School Supply Wall, and Competitive Corn Hole. Not only do you get to have a good time, you also get to learn a little bit more about the people of Sudan, what they're up against, and support their vision for a better country.

3. You Get To Serve A Vastly Underserved Cause

The crisis in Sudan is one of the biggest global issues in the world today, yet it receives virtually no media attention. Right now, millions of people in Sudan are taking a stand against one of the most violent and oppressive governments in the world. More on that here

Operation Broken Silence is one of the only nonprofits in the world that is consistently using the power of documentary film and photography so the Sudanese people have an opportunity to speak out. We then use their stories to inspire people to get involved in specific ways.

This year's event is particularly special because our immersive photography exhibit will be included at the event! Watch the video below to learn more about that:

4. You Get To Dress To Impress

When we started this event in 2012, we asked all of the event attendees to "dress to impress" as a theme. Our guests fell in love with the idea because there are so few affordable events in Memphis that you get to dress up for. We've done it every year since. And hey, it makes for a really special date night or hang out with a few friends!

You should arrive in cocktail attire. That means the minimum is nice slacks and dress shirts for the gents and cocktail dresses for the ladies. No shorts, flip-flops, or t-shirts. Look awesome, because everyone else is going to be looking great!

About Us

Operation Broken Silence is building a global movement to empower the Sudanese people through innovative programs as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

We come alongside the Sudanese to tell their story through stunning documentaries and photo exhibits. We then use our media to inspire people around the world to join our movement. Our movement fundraises for and gives to lifesaving medical, relief, and education programs on the ground.
