On the evening of June 13, 2019, brand partner Kendra Scott hosted their second fundraiser for our education program in Yida Refugee Camp. Here are your results and a few photos from the evening!
Kendra Scott is a loving mom, a driven entrepreneur, and a passionate designer who believes the truest form of success is giving back in a meaningful way. Her namesake company and brand is guided by three core values: Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy.
Operation Broken Silence is a participating organization in the Kendra Gives Back community-giving program. On specific evenings each year, our movement members and their friends can shop for good at Kendra Scott's Saddle Creek store in Germantown, TN. Kendra donates 20% of all sales to our education program in Yida Refugee Camp, South Sudan.
Funds raised by you and Kendra Scott are put toward the Endure Primary and Renewal High Schools in Yida Refugee Camp, South Sudan. We've put 24 Nuba teachers back to work who oversee nearly 1,100 children at the schools each and every day.
Children are not charged fees for their educaton at these two incredible schools, and brand partners like Kendra Scott help to keep it that way. Both the primary and high schools are the only stable place for students who have grown up in war and lost family members. And one day, they will help bring peace and good governance to Sudan.
The people of Sudan are overcoming two of the greatest challenges facing humanity today: war and genocide. Operation Broken Silence is accelerating their ability to generate lasting change by funding storytelling and movement-building, education and emergency response, and grassroots advocacy programs. Here are a few ways you can join us:
1. Give Monthly To The Education In Yida. The Renewal is our unstoppable family of monthly givers who never stop fighting for change. They give automatically each and every month to the two schools we sponsor in Yida Refugee Camp, providing consistent support to 24 teachers and nearly 1,100 students from the Nuba Mountains. Right now, the schools are short about $2,500 in monthly funding. LEARN MORE »
2. Become A Fundraiser. If you can’t give monthly right now, you can start an online fundraising page for the schools in Yida or Mother of Mercy Hospital in the Nuba Mountains warzone. BECOME A FUNDRAISER »
