On October 20, 2018, we hosted our 9th annual 5K fundraising event at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, TN! The weather was misty, but our awesome runners, fundraisers, and volunteers showed up anyways to run for childhood education in Sudan!

Event Results

This year, you and 83 other registered runners raised and gave $5,964 for the Endure Primary School in Yida Refugee Camp. Great work!

Eden's Run 5K is just one of several small steps we are taking to empower the Sudanese people to end the crisis they face in our lifetime. We have a number of additional opportunities coming up that you can join us in.

The people of Sudan are overcoming two of the greatest challenges facing humanity today: war and genocide. Operation Broken Silence is working to accelerate their ability to generate lasting change through storytelling and movement-building, education and emergency response, and grassroots advocacy programs.

Here are a few ways you can join us:

1. Come To Our Next Event. Our annual holiday campaign launches in mid-November! Join us at our office on Saturday morning, November 10 for a apancake to breakfast to learn more. This event is free and breakfast is on us! REGISTER FOR FREE »

2. Join The Renewal. This is our family of monthly givers who never stop pushing the needle forwards. They give automatically each and every month, providing consistent support to our Sudanese partners. About Scovia

Originally from southern Sudan before independence, Scovia fled her country as a young girl during the war, grew up as a refugee, and eventually ended up in Memphis, TN to pursue a higher education. 

A public relations professional by trade, Scovia now leads our efforts to introduce people to the crisis in Sudan and mobilize them for action. She recruits fundraisers, activists, event hosts, and donors to our movement to empower the people of Sudan. Her positive attitude and passion are contagious to all who hear and meet her.
