Eden's Run 5K For Refugee Education is back for its 10th year on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 8:30AM! This year, the 5k is at Shelby Farms Park on the beautiful Chickasaw Trail.

Don't forget, if you registered for free and are raising $125 through your fundraising page and haven't reached your goal by race day, you'll need to make a donation to your page to cover the rest.

If you've already paid for your registrations or reached your fundraising goal, the following is everything you need to know, all in one place.

About The Cause

Operation Broken Silence is building a global movement to empower the Sudanese people through innovative programs as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This special race directly benefits our primary school and high school in Yida Refugee Camp, where we support 18 Sudanese teachers and nearly 1,100 children every day. Many of the students at these two schools in Yida have been seperated from their parents or orphaned due to the genocidal war they fled in Sudan.

By participating in Eden's Run 5K For Refugee Education, you are ensuring that these teachers and children will continue getting the support they deserve in the months ahead.

About The Theme

The theme for this year's 5K is Superhero! Runners are encouraged to show up in their favorite superhero costume or colors as we race and fundraise against each other! Here is some Superhero-themed attire we found on Pinterest. This will give you a good idea of what you can wear to the 5K on September 21!

You do not have to go all out and buy a costume if you don't want too. Wearing a superhero t-shirt or colors works great as well!

Arrival, Parking, & Check-In

You should plan on being at the check-in and registration pavilion between 8:00AM-8:15AM. The race starts a few minutes after 8:30AM just up the hill.

Our pavilion is just down the hill and across the street from the Woodland Discovery Playground. See the map below for the pavilion location.

Eden's Run 5K follows the Chickasaw trail at Shelby Farms Park. We run the course backwards, which means you get a little bit of an extra workout!

And yes, the run is timed! After you get clocked in at the end of the run, head back downhill to the pavillion for some light refreshments, awards, and more!
