Weekly News Roundup From Sudan: March 29, 2018

what the media is writing and showing about Sudan

Posted by OBS Team on March 29th, 2018

Most weeks we gather important stories and updates from Sudan and consolidate them in one place for you. We also provide a few opportunities you can take to empower the Sudanese people.

The people of Sudan are overcoming two of the greatest challenges facing humanity today: war and genocide. Operation Broken Silence is working to accelerate their ability to generate lasting change through storytelling, education and relief, and advocacy programs.

If you're not currently involved in empowering the Sudanese people, here are a few easy ways to join us from wherever you are:

1. Support Mother of Mercy Hospital. Dr. Tom Catena, featured in the video above, is the only surgeon at Mother of Mercy Hospital in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. You can support Dr. Tom and his Nuba colleagues by starting a fundraising page and asking your friends and family to join you by giving towards your goal. 2. Stand For Education. Our local education partner is preparing to add the final grade to the primary school our supporters sponsor in Yida Refugee Camp, South Sudan. There are still a couple of details to wrap up before this can happen, and we need your help to cross the finish line. LEARN MORE »

3. Make A Donation. If you can't give fundraise right now, you can still make a difference by pitching in a one-time donation to Mother of Mercy Hospital or the primary school we support in Yida Refugee Camp. GIVE HERE »
