One of the best ways you can introduce your friends and family to the crisis in Sudan and how they can help is to host an event at your home, church, or school. Whether it's to raise funds for your personal fundraising campaign or to recruit new members to our movement, we're here to help!
We have event guides and promotional resources that will take a lot of the work out of event planning for you. Here are some of the most popular types of events our supporters have hosted over the years:
Hosting a dinner party right out of your home is one of the easiest ways to get your friends involved. The event itself is affordable and has only a limited time commitment. And there's plenty of room for your creativity! Whether you are planning on catering because you don't cook at all or are a gourmet chef that wants to impress, you make your dinner party your own.
Never hosted a diner party before? Fear not! We have an easy-to-use event planning guide, template invitations, and handouts for how your guests can get involved.
Hosting a screening of our most recent documentary film at your school, church, or community center, or even at a local theater, is one of the best ways to introduce a larger number of people to the crisis in Sudan and how they can get involved. Film screenings do require an additional time commitment as they usually draw in a much larger crowd and involve going outside of your home, but they are often times still very affordable if you can find a community institution to host you for free. Most of our film screeners have easily been able to setup a screening for free.
If you've never hosted a film screening before, that's okay! We have an easy-to-use event planning guide, template flyers you can print off and send out, and handouts for how your guests can get involved.
This is hands down one of the most fun and interactive events you can throw to introduce people to the crisis in Sudan and how they can get involved. Hosting a beer, wine, liquor, or mixed drink tasting right at home is a great event option for beginners and experts alike as they can be as simple or complex as you make them. Your time commitment and financial investment varies based on how complex you make your event and the types of libations you use. The bonus though is that a libations tasting usually outfundraises most other event types.
Never hosted a libation tasting before? No worries! We have an easy-to-use event planning guide, template event invitations, tasting guides for your guests, and handouts for getting people involved.
Other Event Options
Don't worry, you aren't limited to just the above event types. Over the years, we've had bowling tournaments, bike races, cigar tastings, and more. We love new event ideas as long as they are tasteful! If you have a unique event idea that falls outside of these 3 event types, or if you're just looking for some inspiration for an event, we encourage you to reach out to us anyways.
