About
Blood:Water Mission is a grassroots organization that empowers communities to work together against the HIV/AIDS and water crisis. This organization was founded by the members of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band, Jars of Clay.
Since it’s creation in 2004, Blood:Water Mission has funded over 600 clean water projects in 11 countries. Their efforts alone have raised funds for the delivery of clean water access and hygiene/sanitation training to over 460,000 people across Africa.
OBS Support
Operation Broken Silence supports Blood:Water Mission because of their funding of work in areas where genocide is underway, has occurred, or could break out. Making sure that these people have safe drinking water also means that children can spend more time in school and adults can focus more on building microeconomic activity. In more ways than one, water is a major part of ensuring the safety and building up of communities in times of war and genocide, as well as in the often painful recovery years in genocide’s aftermath.
