TAKE ACTION: Preventing and Ending Genocide

There are a seemingly endless number of things we as individuals can do to help eradicate eliminationism and genocide from  our world.

1. Inform Your Network, Break Your Silence

This is a bold step. How do we get others to care about preventing genocide and ending current ones? How do we as individuals combat eliminationism? Step number 1 is to be informed yourself.

The next step is relatively easy. Tell everyone! Be loud and vocal and let people know you care!

2. Write Your Senator:

After the genocide in Rwanda, many U.S. Senators began receiving thousands of personal letters from concerned citizens about the United States’ disgusting stance of “inaction.” These Senators remarked that if they had received these letters before or during the genocide, THEY WOULD HAVE PUSHED FOR ACTION…

We must call on our government to prevent genocide before it begins, and intervene when genocide is committed. Write your Senator a PERSONAL letter. Tell them your concerns and what you expect of them. All it takes is a few minutes at the very most…make copies, send them to other Senators as well. Thanks to modern communication, you can even e-mail your Senators, or call them.

The possibilities to take action are endless and to many to list here. Take your creativity as far as you can with it!

4. Donate and Serve:

Donate money, raise money through fundraising events, and serve! Contact an aid organization or speak with your church about a possible medical, construction, or relief work mission trip to the area that concerns you.
