Every person on the planet has been touched by the coronavirus pandemic, including the uninfected. On May 5, 2020, nonprofits are coming together for #GivingTuesdayNow. We’re proud to be a part of this effort.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of emergency giving and volunteering. There are several ways you can be involved today. Let’s start with the big need we have.
Help Our Teachers
Since the pandemic started, we have seen a 60% drop in the donations our teachers in Yida Refugee Camp rely on.
These 24 teachers that we support in Yida are quite literally the last line of defense. They are all that stand in the way of another generation of Nuba leaders becoming “lost” due to the education system being destroyed by the war. As our teachers brace themselves for COVID-19, it is important that the anxiety of being able to support their families isn't made worse by budget cuts.
Our #GivingTuesdayNow goal is to see 50 supporters start giving monthly to the teachers. Even if all you can spare is $10 a month, that will go a long way in helping.
