Soirée For Sudan

Untitled design.png

Soirée For Sudan is our annual gala benefiting the two schools we sponsor in Yida Refugee Camp.

2020 has nearly crushed us. In March, the pandemic careened into our mission. The generous giving we are used to seeing halted almost overnight. COVID-19 reached Sudan, putting our program partners on high alert. We've been fighting to clear a path forward ever since.

This is Soirée For Sudan's eighth year. Our team has worked hard to bring the magic of this party online. We are thrilled with how the gala is shaping up.

  • Informative livestreams about Sudan and our mission.

  • Unique ways to support our work, like a silent auction!

  • World-class cooking, cocktail, and dance demos.

  • Live events that include music, dancing, Zumba, film screenings, and a virtual happy hour with trivia!

  • Best-dressed and top fundraising awards and live raffles.

Soirée For Sudan will build up to the big evening of September 12, when you can dress up for a virtual red carpet! Ladies, that means vibrant evening gowns or cocktail dresses. Gents, you'll need a nice suit. Masks, feathers, and face paint are optional.

Yida Teacher - OBSilence.png

2020 is hard.

Operation Broken Silence is the only nonprofit in the world supporting Sudanese teachers in Yida Refugee Camp.

24 teachers from the oppressed Nuba Mountains of Sudan rely on the funding we provide to the Endure Primary and Renewal High Schools in Yida. 1,300 children walk into their classrooms every day.

60% of the funding these teachers rely on has been wiped out in the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandamic. When you register for Soirée For Sudan, you are rebuilding the funding they need to succeed. Let's go.
