5K Planning & Promotional Committee
Annual and ongoing
This committee helps runners register and secures event sponsors. They also have opportunities to help our team craft the magic little details of race day. Being a committee member usually requires a few hours of your time every month, and a little more in the weeks leading up to race day.
Memphis 5K Volunteers

Our 15th annual 5K is a celebration of the Sudanese teachers who are tirelessly working to bring education to children in Yida Refugee Camp.
You’ll help run water stations, setup and break down the course, cheer runners on, and more!
Why join an event team?
The answer is simple: our supporters make our events possible. When you give your time and skills, you are helping us create memorable experiences for our supporters and saving precious financial resources we can send to Sudanese heroes instead.
It’s also one of the best ways to make friends and find a home in our movement! And if you need to fulfill service hours for your academic institution or employer, we’re happy to provide a letter confirming your time. Just be sure to let us know on the front end.
